Sarah Tanner, 79, passed away at her home in Neely on Sunday, February 25, 2018. She was a member of Unity Baptist Church. She loved being outdoors and working around the house. She especially enjoyed her garden and tending to her chickens. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, and friend. More than anything else, she loved to spend time with and care for her grandchildren. She was loved and will be greatly missed.
She was preceded in death by her daughter Vina McCraney; son, Don Bond; husband, June Bond; parents, Ruby Williams and Lewis Jenkins; many siblings; one granddaughter, Kayla McCraney; and great-grandson, Earl Breland.
She is survived by her husband, Rudolph Tanner; children, Marvin Rich and Earlene Herrin (Ronnie); brother, C.L. Jenkins (Grace); sisters, Doris Williams (Jim) and Elsie Havard; 7 grandchildren; 16 great-grandchildren; and a host of nieces, nephews, and friends.
A wake will be held on Wednesday, February 28, 2018 from 6-9 pm at Freeman Funeral Home. The Funeral Service will be held on at 11 am Thursday, March 1, 2018 at Freeman Funeral Home with Bro.
