Raybon Guy, 75, passed away at the Greene Rural Nursing Center on Wednesday, December 19, 2018. He was born and raised in the same house in the Old Avera Community. He later moved to Sand Hill where he spent the majority of his life. After hauling pulp wood for many years, he became disabled and was able to spend a lot of time with his family and friends, especially his grandchildren. He was loved and will be greatly missed.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Ernest and Mamie Guy; brothers, Ernest Lee Guy and Charles Guy; sisters, Linda ALbritton, Loise Ezell, Lily Batley, and Hazel Alday.
Left to cherish his memories are his wife of 48 years, Genevive McLain Guy; son, Curtis Guy (Melissa); daughters, Darlene Helton (Dirkin), Marie Everett (John), and Heather Turner (Robert); brothers, William Guy, Alton Guy (Virginia), Claude Guy (Robin), and Ronnie Guy; sisters, Rosalee Yarborough, Alizabeth Dennis, Alberta Dickinson, and Tereasa McLaughtin (Ronald); 12 grandchildren; 4 great-grandchildren; and a host of other relatives and friends.
A wake will be held on Friday, December 21, 2018 from 6-9 pm at Freeman Funeral Home. The Funeral Service will be held on Saturday, December 22, 2018 at 2 pm at Freeman Funeral Home. Interment will be in the Pilgrims Rest Cemetery with Bro. Curt Sullivan officiating. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that benevolence donations be made to Mrs. Genevive Guy. The pallbearers will be Samuel Guy, Charles Guy, Jr., Morris Ray Everett, Jasper Everett, Derick Turner, Larry Fortenberry, Jr. The honorary pallbearers are Paul Daniels, Robert Turner, and Greg Brown, Jr. Online condolences may be given at www.freemanleakesville.com.
