Gregg Wilbert Hovatter, 68, of Leakesville, passed away after a long battle with a terminal illness on Saturday, October 19, 2019. Mr. Hovatter was a life-long resident of Greene County. He was a kind and humble man who loved his wife and family. He was a member of the Apostolic Tabernacle Church here in Leakesville. He was a welder for most of his life and retired from Synergy in Mt. Vernon, AL in 2014. He was loved and will be greatly missed by his family and friends.
He was preceded in death by his wife of 43 years, Linda Hovatter; mother, Lottie Green; father, Gerald Hovatter; brother, Jerry Hovatter; sister, Wilma Helton; and sister, Judy Holder.
Left to cherish his memories are his children, Danielle Hovatter (C.J. Hillman), Steven Hovatter, and Jamie Hovatter (Regina); grandchildren, Logan Mason (Katelyn) and Taylor Jones; step-mother, Ruby Reid; brothers and sisters, Bonnie Turner, Buddy Hovatter (Doris), Pete Hovatter (Agnes), Sue Riles (Leonard), Peggy McNider, Belinda Dixon, Martina Jamison (Mark), Jimmy Green, Tammy Goldman, and Becki Bradley (Reggie); life-long friend, Sheila Shiver of East Point, FL; and a host of other relatives and friends.
The wake will be held from 6-9 pm on Tuesday, October 22, 2019 at Freeman Funeral Home. The Funeral Service will be at 11 am on Wednesday, October 23, 2019 at Freeman Funeral Home with Rev.
