Paula Fay Owens, 70, of Fruitdale, AL, passed away on January 30, 2018 at Providence Hospital. She was born and raised in the foothills of Missouri. After High School, she enlisted and served in the United States Marine Corps as well as the United States Navy in which she served as a cook. After living in Orlando for 16 years, she and her husband, Ben settled in Escatawpa where they raised their fur baby, Princess. She was a long-time member of Epworth United Methodist Church, where she was the coordinator of the food bank and served and participated in many other church and community activities. She was loved and will be greatly missed by all who knew her.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Ralph and Viola Persinger; sister, Barbara Simmons; brothers, Gene, Johnny, and David Persinger; and two sister-in-laws, Linda Owens and Bobbie Garlinghouse.
She is survived by her husband of 48 years, Ben Owens, Jr.; fur baby, Princess; siblings, Ricky Persinger, Molly Bartrum, Robert Persinger, and Linda Crews; her church family; and a host of brothers and sisters-in-law, nieces, nephews, and friends.
A wake will be held on Friday, February 2, 2018 from 6-9 pm at Freeman Funeral Home in Leakesville. The Funeral Service will be held at 3 pm on Saturday, February 3, 2018 at Epworth United Methodist Church with Bro. Tommy Gaillard and Bro. Curtis Smith officiating.
