John Edsel LambertNovember 8, 1927 ~ January 13, 2018 (age 90)
John Edsel Lambert, 90, of Greene County, passed away on Saturday, January 13, 2018 at the Veterans Hospital in Biloxi. He was a member of Mt. Calvary United Pentecostal Church for most of his life. He joined the Unite States Navy during high school in which he served during World War II and was recalled to service in the Korean Conflict. After his service he worked at the shipyard and soon after began his own business as a home builder and contractor. He loved to build, farm, and garden, as well as hunt. He was a member of the Masonic Lodge and a Shriner. He was a loving husband, father, grandfather, neighbor and friend. He was loved and will be greatly missed by all who knew him.
He was preceded in death by his wife of 68 years, Ima Jean Lambert; parents, John Henry and Nancy McLeod Lambert; brothers, Aubrey and John Mark Lambert; and sisters, Katie “Jo” Shephard and Geraldine Prine.
Those left to cherish his memory are his son, Ronald E. Lambert (Carolyn); daughter, Renee Rouse (Jackie); five grandchildren, Dana Sherman (Rob), Tracie Klezmer, Greg Lambert (Libba), Dustin Rouse (Heather) and Lacey Martin (Timmy); great-grandchildren, Grace, Ivy, Sullivan Edmonds, and Hazel Elizabeth; brothers, Lee Fonda (Sue) and Tex (Dianne) Lambert; sister, Betty Jean Sheeran; many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
The Funeral Service will be held at 12 pm on Thursday, January 18, 2018 at Freeman Funeral Home with a visitation prior to the service beginning at 11 am with Bro. Jim Gable officiating. Interment will be in the Magnolia Cemetery in Lucedale. Pall Bearers include; Greg Lambert, Dustin Rouse, Rob Sherman, Timmy Martin, Marty Shephard, and Pat Shephard.
