Homer Euclid ChurchwellNovember 17, 1924 ~ September 11, 2017 (age 92)
Homer Euclid Churchwell, 92, passed away on Monday, September 11, 2017 in his home in St. Ellen. At the age of 17, he enlisted in the United States Navy and was honorably discharged at the conclusion of World War II. He went on to retire from Ideal Cement Company in Mobile with over 33 years of service. He was also a farmer and enjoyed working with his cattle. He was also a life-long member of Antioch Baptist Church. He was loved and will be greatly missed by all of his family and friends.
He was preceded in death by his wife of almost 50 years, Ann Churchwell; parents, Homer “Boy” and Pearl Williams Churchwell; sisters, Ephie Helton, Kitty McInnis, Regina Arvin, Ogretta Gray, and Iris Churchwell; grandson, Shawn Brown.
He is survived by his children, Charles E. Churchwell, Lyn Churchwell, Homer Keith Churchwell, and Virginia Ann Clark; grandchildren, Brooke Churchwell, Brenden Spear, Dalton Churchwell, Ginia Smith, and Ginger Brown; one great-grandson, Lucian Brown; and a host of nieces, nephews, and friends.
A wake will be held on Wednesday, September 13, 2017 from 6-9 pm at Freeman Funeral Home. The Funeral Service will be held on Thursday, September 14, 2017 at 2 pm with Bro. Richard Dykes officiating.
